EUGENE KUCENKO  (November 24, 1924 - February 17, 2000)

Eugene was born November 24, 1924, to Michael and Alexandra Kucenko in Zoloteeyev, Rivenska oblast, Ukraine.  He accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his Saviour and in 1945, at the age of 21, was baptized in water.

As a teen and throughout his entire life Eugene loved to sing.  From the Sunday School choir in the church in Rivne, to outreach ministry in German displaced-persons camps, to the choir at the Ukrainian Evangelical Baptist Church on Tecumseth, in Toronto, Eugene's passion was ministry in music.

On March 21, 1953, he married Sarah Nesterenko.  God blessed them with a daughter, Haline, and a son, Peter Eugene.

On the evening of February 17, 2000, Eugene was ushered into the presence of His Lord and Saviour.

...but let it be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable jewel of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God's sight is very precious.  - I Peter 3:4
