Kindrat, Peter, b 15 November 1892 in Chemeryntsi, Peremyshliany county, Galacia, died 22 June 1971 in Winnipeg.  Religious leader and author.  Immigrating to Canada in 1910, Kindrat studied at McMaster University and, after meeting I. Kolesnykiv, joined a group of Baptists in Toronto.  After 1921, he served as a pastor in Montreal, Ottawa, Dauphin, Swan River, Prince Alpert, and Winnipeg.  A founder of the Ukrainian Baptist press in Canada, he was coeditor of Khrystyians’kyi visnyk (1942-1952), secretary-general and president of the Ukrainian Evangelical Baptist Convention of Canada, and president of the All-Ukrainian Evangelical Baptist Fellowship (1949-1959). Kindrat wrote Ukrains’kyi Baptysts’kyi Rukh u Kanadia (Ukrainian Baptist Movement in Canada, 1972).
